This episode was definitely another excuse for some breathing room, taking time to establish a few of the characters outside the main pair a little more. Last week told us why Mangetsu wants to fight, this time we found out why everyone else is getting in on this.
Granbelm’s first episode was super flashy but didn’t quite have enough substance to pin down where the show was actually going. Episode two remedied that nicely. This show has some tone issues. Tone issues which were pretty constant this episode in particular, with scenes which were very clearly meant to be taken totally seriously consistently coming across as comedic due to the goofy delivery or inherent silliness of the situation at hand. At least it was unintentionally funny.
