As is now something of a tradition for my 12 days posts, day 6 is our 5th annual Short awards. Every year I use this day to highlight some of the more interesting short anime that aired over the course of the year. In any year the quality of short anime tends to vary wildly and that held true here for the most part. On the plus side there wasn’t much in the way of actively unpleasant stuff like some previous years have had so good job on that front 2020. Well it sure has been a while. Between real life getting in the way and a sort of collapse of my desire to write after I couldn’t keep up with the weekly Endro! posts (Obviously those are no longer happening, but I do have a post about a specific character in the works which may or may not see the light of day at some point). I’ve been sitting with this half finished for a couple of months now. But it’s still technically the winter season so I’m not late with this yet! Fall was an unusually solid season for shorts, although I went in with unrealistically high expectations for one specific show the generally solid performance of everything else helped to cushion the blow of its being merely good.
Recurring feature time! In previous 12 days runs I’ve used day 6 to highlight a few of the most interesting short anime to air during the year, it’s a good tradition so lets keep it going.
Well that season sure flew by. It certainly doesn’t feel like I’ve gone another 3 months without writing anything.
This season’s shorts had one unusual thing in common. With a single exception everything was a sequel or a continuation. As such it’s a lot of “if you liked this already it’s still good” for the most part. But enough preamble. In the spirit of the swiftly passing season let’s get right down to it.
